The Guardian Apprentices

Long ago there was a sorcerer named Mathelumakel who was the most powerful magic creature ever.  His race was unknown, but among being the most powerful, he also bore the weight of being the town guardian of Lakes Hidden, he and his apprentices.  He had eleven apprentices who helped with his practice, and although being the wisest he could still not see the darkness within eight of them.

    One night thirteen years into their apprentiship, while they were resting, five of the dark apprentices came to his room for advice.  Only two left, for there was a great battle among good and evil that night.  The neighboring towns were lit up in fire, smoke blocking the moon.  The dark side is quick and those nine concealed what they had learned from their dark master, Neogathalem.

   The battle woke up the other seven who came running towards his room.  The three dark apprentices caught the other good apprentices and battled with them.  In the middle of this battle one of the three good apprentices ran far away to a village where nobody knew who he was.

   The battles ended with the sorcerer dead but the only two who survived were his last two loyal apprentices Philakamye and Talsordium, who vowed to avenge his death and to take over as guardian of Lakes Hidden.  During the battle the sorcerer used his power to weaken Neogathalem, but his power is still strong, and that is where this epic begins.
